Earlier this year actor Ben Affleck announced that he would no longer be directing the solo Batman movie. Following this announcement, there were then subsequent rumors and whisperings that Affleck might not even be playing Batman at all, but that is a rumor that has since been quashed.

In a report from IGN, it seems that Affleck has been confirmed to star in the solo Batman movie, which is good or bad news depending on who you ask. Many had initially balked at the idea of Affleck taking on the role of the caped crusader when it was first announced, but that stance has softened somewhat following the release of the movies.

Matt Reeves will be the new director behind the Batman movie as it was announced back in February. Unfortunately a release date for the movie has yet to be set, but last we heard production might not start until next year, meaning that we might only see the solo Batman film in 2019.

In the meantime Affleck will be reprising his role as Batman in the upcoming Justice League movie that is currently on track for a release on the 17th of November later this year. So what do you guys think? Yay or nay that Affleck will continue donning the Batman cape and cowl for a while more?
