Hot on the heels of a permanent $200 price cut by HTC for its Vive virtual reality headset, Sony is also cutting the PlayStation VR price. The company has dropped the price of its two PlayStation VR bundles. It’s now selling the $399 core PlayStation VR set which only included the headset previously with the PlayStation Camera. The camera itself costs $59. It’s now a part of the core bundle.

Sony also sells a more expensive PlayStation VR bundle. This one used to cost $499. It includes two PlayStation Move controllers, a camera, and PlayStation Worlds, a minigame collection produced by Sony.

The company has discounted this bundle to $449. It’s going to start selling both bundles from September 1st. Customers in the United States and Canada will be able to take advantage of these reduced prices.

Both bundles will also be arriving at retailers on September 1st. Customers who want to pick one up are encouraged to check with their local retailers.

In the grand scheme of things, Sony’s price cut for the PlayStation VR headset isn’t as substantial as what we’ve seen HTC do for the Vive VR headset. Nevertheless, customers will appreciate that Sony has made the PSVR a bit more attainable for them.
