There are quite a few Xbox 360 titles that can be played on the Xbox One through the magic of backward compatibility. Microsoft has made some of the most popular Xbox 360 titles compatible with its current-gen console over the past few months. The list continues to grow. Fans of the classic Fable Anniversary have been keeping their fingers crossed and they will be delighted to know that Microsoft is working on backward compatibility for Fable Anniversary.

Other titles from this franchise are already backward compatible. Fable II and Fable III are on the list of Xbox 360 titles that can be played on the Xbox One. Fans of the franchise only have to wait for a little more to play the original title as well.

Xbox chief Phil Spencer was asked on Twitter recently if Fable Anniversary backward compatibility remains a possibility. Spencer confirmed that it will arrive, adding that “it’s being worked on now.”

What Spencer didn’t confirm is that when we can expect it to arrive. It may take a couple of months or even more. Only time will tell. So far, all fans can do is keep their fingers crossed for the backward compatible Fable Anniversary to be released sooner rather than later.

We’ll update you when there’s more information about the backward compatible Fable Anniversary for Xbox One.
