So what does this mean for HTC? The good news for fans of the company is that things are expected to proceed as per usual. In fact come 2018, fans can look forward to HTC launching a new flagship that will be the successor to this year’s HTC U11 smartphone. This is according to HTC’s announcement in which the company basically said that they will be releasing a new phone next year, while at the same time streamlining their existing portfolio.
HTC’s press release reads, “This agreement also supports HTC’s continued branded smartphone strategy, enabling a more streamlined product portfolio, greater operational efficiency and financial flexibility. HTC will continue to have best-in-class engineering talent, which is currently working on the next flagship phone, following the successful launch of the HTC U11 earlier this year.”
We’re not sure what the future holds for HTC after that so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime we are also very curious as to what Google’s investment will yield in terms of new products.
