So we’ve known that a new Tomb Raider movie is in the works. The movie was announced last year and is a reboot to the existing Tomb Raider movie franchise which previously starred Angelina Jolie, and in a way it is meant to mirror the reboot to the video game franchise which is said to feature a grittier and more vulnerable Lara Croft.

The movie’s official poster and teaser trailer was released yesterday and the good news for Tomb Raider fans is that the official trailer for the movie has since been released onto YouTube. The trailer gives us a good look at what we can expect from the upcoming flick, which from what we can tell looks a lot like the game.

It will star Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, along with the likes of Daniel Wu, Walton Goggins, and Dominic West. So far the trailer looks pretty promising, but then again we have seen movie trailers for video games that showed just as much promise, only to bomb terribly upon their release. Will Tomb Raider manage to break the mold? We suppose the remains to be seen.

The movie is currently set for a release on the 16th of March, 2018, and if you have a couple of minutes to spare, check out the trailer above for a sneak peek.
