Westworld became an instant hit for HBO and many believe that it’s going to become the cable giant’s biggest hit after Game of Thrones reaches its conclusion. Fans have been waiting for the second season for over a year now and while HBO is yet to confirm precisely when Westworld season 2 is going to be released, one of the cast members has given us an idea of when to expect it to go on air.
Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the showrunners behind Westworld, have previously said that they would take more time than usual to ensure that the second season can live up to its predecessor. That’s why HBO gave them more time for writing and production.
Westworld season 2 release is going to take place in spring 2018. This has been revealed by actress Evan Rachel Wood who plays Dolores on the show.
It was initially believed that Westworld season 2 would be released towards the end of next year. That’s because the first season was released in October last year. It was natural for people to assume that the second season would be released around the same time.
Westworld might very well end up taking the baton from Game of Thrones which has been an outstanding hit for HBO. Its eighth and final season is expected to be released in 2019.
