The last time we saw a G.I. Joe movie was back in 2013, which means that it has been about 4 years since. However if you’re looking forward to a third G.I. Joe movie, you’re going to have to wait a couple more years, but the good news is that at least it has been confirmed, according to a report from Deadline.

According to the report, Paramount has announced a handful of new movies that will be released in 2020 and 2021, with a G.I. Joe movie confirmed for 2020 which means that fans will have a couple of years left to wait before it is released. Not much is known about the movie for now, including the casting, so we’ll have to wait and see.

What’s interesting is that Paramount’s announcement seems to be forming the basis of a potential Hasbro Cinematic Universe. G.I. Joe is under the Hasbro umbrella, along with Micronauts which is also scheduled for 2020. Paramount also announced a new Dungeons & Dragons film for 2021 (D&D is under Wizards of the Coast, which in turn is also under Hasbro), followed by a fourth unnamed Hasbro film that is also scheduled for the later part of 2021.

Given that Hasbro has many well-known toys and franchises under their name, no doubt that these movies are something that fans are probably looking forward to in the next few years.
