MWC is a great platform for companies to unveil new smartphones and other mobile devices, but at the same time with the number of vendors at the event, we suppose a product’s announcement could easily be lost in all the noise. Perhaps that’s what Xiaomi could be thinking because according to Android Headlines, the Mi 7 might not be unveiled at MWC 2018 anymore.

There is no mention as to why Xiaomi might have changed their minds, so this is just speculation on our part. It also contradicts an earlier rumor which suggested that the phone could debut at the event, but given that those plans are no longer active, we have to wonder when Xiaomi plans on announcing the phone. However we wouldn’t be surprised if Xiaomi were to choose to do it at its own event at a time and location of their own choosing.

Interestingly enough Xiaomi isn’t the only company said to be skipping announcing a flagship phone at MWC. Earlier there were rumors that said that Huawei could also not announce their new flagship at the event, and HTC is also said to not have anything major to share as well. There was also mention of LG and the LG G7, but according to LG, their upcoming flagship is said to be “on schedule”. Either way we’ll find out soon enough, so check back with us next month for the details.
