It appears that Motorola will soon launch a new Moto Mod for compatible devices that will enable users to improve the audio experience. The mod will be a first-party accessory meaning that it will be made by Motorola itself and it’s going to be called the Stereo Speaker Mod. As the name suggests, it’s going to add a stereo speaker to compatible handsets.

The accompanying image shows that the Moto Stereo Speaker Mod is even going to have a pop-out ring at the back which will function as a kickstand. The mod itself will be available in three colors – Black, Blue, and Red – when it’s released.

The technical specifications aren’t available at this point in time so it’s unclear how just good of a speaker this is going to be compared to the existing JBL SoundBoost 2 speaker mod. The report also mentions that this mod will have a splashproof design and good audio quality. Information about the battery size and the battery life hasn’t surfaced online yet.

Since the JBL SoundBoost 2 mod costs $80, it’s likely that the Moto Stereo Speaker Mod might be priced around the same level. All Moto Z and second-generation Moto Z devices will reportedly be compatible with this mod. Motorola is yet to confirm when it will officially launch the Stereo Speaker Mod.
