With the release of iOS 11.4, Apple has also released AirPlay 2 which means that the HomePod speakers can now be connected to each other for multi-room support. However the HomePods aren’t the only speakers that will take advantage of Apple’s new streaming protocol and if you’re wondering which speakers support the new AirPlay 2, Apple has listed them online.

On Apple’s website, the company has listed the various speakers that support AirPlay 2. It actually covers quite a lot of brands, ranging from Apple’s own Beats brand, to Bang & Olufsen, Bose, Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Sonos, and more. The full list can be found here.

While there are some speakers that already support daisy chaining for multi-room support, the inclusion of AirPlay 2 means that if you prefer using Apple’s protocol such as when streaming from your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, that will be an option as well. We expect that maybe more speaker brands will eventually add support for AirPlay 2, but for now these are the ones that are compatible so it’s worth taking note of if you plan on buying a set of new speakers.

In the meantime the iOS 11.4 update has just been released so if you’ve yet to update, you can go ahead and do so now.
