Gone are the days when you wanted to watch a show, you’d either have to turn on network or cable TV to do so. These days there are so many options for users, and companies like Netflix and YouTube have made a business out of delivering that content to users wherever they go, regardless of what device they use.

It seems to be a pretty successful business model because it looks like YouTube Red’s Cobra Kai series has done well enough for it to warrant a renewal of the series for a second season. The series for the first season was released earlier this month and was available for streaming via YouTube Red.

According to Susanne Daniels, YouTube’s global head of original content, “This series had all of the right elements from the very beginning  — compelling characters, a storied rivalry, and the talented original stars. The way viewers have embraced the new twist on this beloved franchise has been nothing short of amazing, and we’re thrilled to partner with Sony TV, Overbrook and the extraordinary creative team led by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg to create a second season.”

For those unfamiliar, Cobra Kai is essentially the sequel of sorts to the original Karate Kid movie. It sees the return of Ralph Macchio and William Zabka who reprise their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence in the original movie.
