EA’s Origin is essentially EA’s take on Valve’s Steam digital game distribution platform, but as you might have heard, during E3 2018 the company announced plans for Origin Access Premier, a new subscription service that they plan to launch in the near future. For those who are curious, you’ll be pleased to learn that the launch will take place next week.

This was revealed and confirmed by EA CFO Blake Jorgensen during an earning’s call on Thursday where they confirmed the service’s launch. According to EA’s Help Page, “Premier is a new membership tier that gives you access to the latest and greatest EA games before anyone else. You get access to the full game – yours to play whenever you want, for as long as you’re a Premier member.”

For those who are Origin Access members, nothing will change as your current membership will remain as the Basic membership. However users can choose to upgrade in which some of the benefits listed are access to game trials for unlimited periods of time, 10% discount on the Origin Store (which is also applicable to Basic members), and access to The Vault (another feature available to Basic members).

The EA Origin Access Premier service is expected to cost gamers $14.99 a month, or $99.99 a year. This is versus the current Origin Access subscription which is priced at $4.99 a month.
