Not all monitors are made equal, and while they are all designed to essentially be displays, there are some that do the job better than others when it comes to certain tasks. For example photographers and video editors might prefer displays that offer flatter tones so that they can get a better sense of what their photos/videos actually look like.

Then there are also gaming monitors which can offer up features like faster response times and refresh rates, and if you are in the market for new gaming monitors, Acer has announced at IFA 2018 brand new Predator and Nitro gaming displays. Starting with the Predator XB273K, this is a 27-inch monitor with a UHD resolution (3840×2160). It will be capable of 144Hz refresh rates, and also support for NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology that helps to eliminate screen tearing.

Then there is also the Acer Nitro series of gaming displays which will come in three different models. All models will feature 27-inch displays, but only one will sport a UHD resolution while the come with WQHD resolutions. The monitors will also feature 144Hz refresh rates, a 1ms MPRT, and will also come with Acer VisionCare that are basically a set of features designed to help make viewing the monitor for extended periods of time more comfortable.

As for pricing, the Acer Predator XV273K will cost $1,300 and will be available in Q4 2018. The Nitro monitors on the other hand will launch in Q4 2018 as well, and are priced starting at $449 for the base model, $499 for the mid-range, and $899 for the UHD model.
