When it comes to choosing headphones, clearly sound quality is an important factor. However there are other factors to consider, such as comfort. This is important for those who plan on wearing them for extended periods of time, a problem that HP’s OMEN Mindframe headset should solve come this October.

Announced a few months ago, the OMEN Mindframe headset is essentially a gaming headset that comes with a pair of earcups that will actually help keep the wearer cool. During Gamescom 2018, HP confirmed that the headset will finally be released in October where it will be priced at $200.

For those hearing about this for the first time, the OMEN Mindframe was announced back in May where one of its selling points was that the earcups could actually keep the wearer feeling cool. Headphone fatigue is real and by keeping the wearer cool, it will allow them to keep wearing the headset for longer periods of time.

This is thanks to the use of the thermoelectric Frostcap technology employed for use in the headset. Aside from a cooling set of earcups, HP has also made some changes to the headset since its announcement where it will also feature noise cancellation, real-time audible feedback, and new fabric eacups which will also help contribute to overall comfort levels.
