Lenovo and Disney announced the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges – Dark Side Expansion today. It’s a new, free content update for the Jedi Challenges augmented reality experience. It will allow players to take on new challenges as Kylo Ren, the face of the Dark Side in the new trilogy of Star Wars movies. In addition to the new content, a new limited edition Kylo Ren lightsaber is also up for sale.
This is the third free update of its kind that has been released for this AR experience so far. It brings new content for Lightsaber Battles with players being able to duel Yoda, Rey, and more.
In order to play the Dark Side Expansion and use the Kylo Ren Lightsaber, the full Star Wars: Jedi Challenges kit will be required which is sold separately. The kid includes the Lenovo Mirage AR headset, Lightsaber Controller, and Tracking Beacon. Players get more than 30 hours of multi-level immersive AR content with Star Wars: Jedi Challenges.
The free update will be available in November. The Kylo Ren Lightsaber will also be released in select markets this November. Customers in the United States will be able to pick one up for $99.99 on www.jedichallenges.com. Pricing and availability will vary by country.
