German auto giant Mercedez-Benz is one of the many major car manufacturers working on electric cars. They’re expected to launch multiple models in the next couple of years. Mercedes itself is due to unveil a new electric SUV soon. It’s going to be a production model which means that customers will actually be able to buy it. The company has started teasing it ahead of the vehicle’s unveiling next month.
A video teaser has been posted online to offer a fleeting glimpse of the production electric SUV from this iconic car company. It’s going to fully reveal the vehicle at its September 4th event which will take place at Stockholm.
The production version is obviously a bit different from the concept that was showcased back in 2016. That’s hardly surprising as concepts are always a bit too futuristic and that doesn’t necessarily trickle down in the production version that appears a few years later.
This electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz will have a motor system capable of producing 400 horsepower while the 70kWh battery will provide a range of up to 310 miles on a single charge in addition to a 0-62 MPH time of under five seconds.
Mercedes won’t actually release this electric SUV before next year but it would be nice to see what it actually looks like. The company may also reveal more technical details about the vehicle at its event.
