2018 seems to be the year of Marvel, at least as far as Netflix is concerned. Not only did the second seasons for Jessica Jones and Luke Cage launch, but come September we can also look forward to the second season of Iron Fist. However it seems that is not all because even later in the year, we can expect the third season of Daredevil to drop as well.

This was confirmed by Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos where he revealed a bunch of new seasons for existing shows would be released later this year. According to Sarandos, “In the short term, we’ve got new seasons coming up, in the second half of this year, of Orange is the New Black, Ozark, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Narcos, the finale of House of Cards, the follow-up series to Making a Murderer.”

Prior to this there have been rumors suggesting that Daredevil’s third season had been delayed, possibly to 2019. If that was true it would mean that the third season could launch 3 years after the second season, but Sarandos’ statement has since debunked those rumors. It is unclear why Netflix is pushing out so many Marvel shows this year (not that it’s a bad thing), but if you’re looking forward to the third season of Daredevil, then keep an eye out for its release later this year.
