A few days ago, photos surfaced which seemed to show off Nikon’s upcoming mirrorless camera. It was hard to see the details in the camera, but from what we could tell based on the model holding the device, it seems to be slightly larger compared to other mirrorless cameras, although admittedly this could have simply been a matter of perspective.

However it turns out that might not necessarily be the case. According to photos posted on the Xitek Forum (via Nikon Rumors), it shows off the alleged Nikon mirrorless camera compared against Sony’s A7 mirrorless camera. As you can see in the photo above, the Nikon is noticeably bigger compared to the Sony, although it appears that their sensor sizes are the same.

Now one of the benefits of going mirrorless is the size, where they are generally smaller than DSLRs which makes them easy to just pop into your bag and you’re good to go. With the Nikon mirrorless, it looks a tad bulky, although this is something we’ll probably need to hold in our hands ourselves to truly get a better idea of how big it is.

Nikon is expected to officially announce the camera on the 23rd of August so be sure to check back with us then for the details.
