Animal Crossing was first launched way back 2001 where we have seen various iterations of the game since, with the most recent being Pocket Camp which launched on mobile, earning Nintendo a cool $50 million since. For those who want to play the game on a bigger screen, you’ll be pleased to learn that during Nintendo’s Direct presentation, the company has confirmed that Animal Crossing will be coming onto the Switch.

Unfortunately details about the game are scarce at the moment, but what we do know is that the game has been pegged for a release in 2019. Many gamers have been begging Nintendo to release Animal Crossing on the switch. After all it is one of the classic Nintendo titles, so it was weird when there was no announcements made when the Switch was announced, or during E3 2018 when the company announced a bunch of different games.

However we suppose Nintendo wasn’t ready for an announcement yet, but we guess they are now. Like we said, details are scarce and the game doesn’t even have a proper title yet and is currently referred to as Animal Camp Switch which is its working title. However the semi-good news is that Isabelle will be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which will be released later this year, so we guess there’s that.
