A couple of years ago following the release of DC’s Suicide Squad movie, it was revealed that Margot Robbie who plays as Harley Quinn in the movie will be getting her own movie. For those wondering about the state of the movie, it has been reported that the movie dubbed “Birds of Prey” will now be released on the 7th of February, 2020.

Robbie will be reprising her role as Harley Quinn in the movie which will be directed by Cathy Yan. Details about the movie are scarce but presumably it will be based on the Birds of Prey comic series which is basically an all-female superhero ensemble that features the likes of Batgirl, Black Canary, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Katana, and more.

It should be noted that Robbie’s involvement in the movie does deviate from the comics a bit since Harley Quinn is actually not part of the Birds of Prey lineup, but this shouldn’t be surprising since most of the superhero movies released to date usually follow their own storyline anyway. It has also been suggested that the movie could see the debut of Batgirl who is also said to be getting her own solo movie, and that Birds of Prey will be her introduction to the DCEU.

That being said, one has to wonder what Warner Bros. has planned for the DCEU given that Henry Cavill is said to have quit his role as Superman, and that Ben Affleck is also planning on hanging up his cowl as Batman.
