The displays on Apple’s iPhones have always been pretty good, and while Apple might have stuck with the use of LCD for many iPhones, it was last year that they finally adopted OLEDs. Turns out it was a pretty good idea because according to DisplayMate (via AppleInsider), they are claiming that the iPhone Xs Max has the best display for a smartphone.

Now on the surface it doesn’t seem like Apple has done much to the display when you compare it against last year’s iPhone X. However according to DisplayMate’s report, there are some changes, namely how it is now brighter and has a higher “absolute color accuracy” compared to its predecessor. They are also claiming that it has “close to Text Book Perfect Calibration and Performance”.

Now the entire report is rather technical but for those who want to really dive into the details, it could be worth checking out. As for how it performs in real-life versus on paper, we suppose that’s something you’ll need to go to the shop and check out for yourself. However the numbers do speak for themselves as it was only recently that it was reported that the iPhone Xs Max was outselling the iPhone Xs by as much as four times, suggesting that Apple has definitely done something right.
