Many major apps have been updated in recent months with a “dark mode” that has become quite popular with users across the globe. This particular mode is very easy on the eyes and one of the reasons why people like it so much. It makes it easier to use the apps in the dark or when there’s low light. The WhatsApp team is now reportedly working on a dark mode for the world’s most popular cross-platform messaging app.

YouTube for Android is a major app that most recently got the dark mode as well. It was actually one of the most requested features from the community ever since the dark mode was first launched for YouTube’s desktop site in 2017.

As you can probably imagine, many WhatsApp users have been requesting the addition to a dark mode to the app as well. Since it’s one of the few apps that they spend a lot of time on daily, the addition of a dark mode will certainly be much appreciated by the countless users of this app.

WABetaInfo, best known for digging up new features in development for WhatsApp through teardowns of the app’s APKs, claims that a dark mode for WhatsApp is now being developed. He has discovered references to a dark mode for WhatsApp in recent versions. No further information is available at this point in time but one can hope that it will have full OLED support for Android and iOS devices.
