If you’ve always felt that if there is one thing the Borderlands series is missing is virtual reality (VR), then you’re in luck because 2K Games and Gearbox Software have officially announced Borderlands 2 VR, which is essentially Borderlands 2 but playable in VR and will be launching for Sony’s PlayStation VR platform this December.

According to the description of the VR version of the game, “Step into the boots of a treasure-seeking Vault Hunter armed with 87 bazillion possible guns on a quest to line your pockets with loot and free Pandora from Handsome Jack’s clutches. Blast bandits with real-world aiming, punch bullymongs in the mouth, find the perfect gun inside a life-sized treasure chest and inspect it from every angle.”

Now Borderlands 2 was launched back in 2012 so it’s safe to say that this is not a new game, not by any means. However the fact that it will soon be playable in VR should add a brand new experience to the game along with perspective (literally) and could be worth taking a look at. It will be a single-player only experience, and is available for pre-order.

For those who pre-order the game, they will also be given a dynamic PlayStation Theme featuring the Vault Hunters Axton, Maya, Salvador, and Zer0.
