Apple will be hosting an event on the 30th of October where it is largely expected that there will be new iPad and Mac related announcements. However there will also be other news on that day, such as the possible release of iOS 12.1. This is according to 9to5Mac who have heard from various carrier sources.

For those who are wondering what the big deal is about the update, iOS 12.1 will represent a pretty big update as far as iOS 12 is concerned. It was previously confirmed that the update will bring Group FaceTime and also enable dual SIM for the new iPhones, so if either of these features is something you’ve been waiting for, then tomorrow will be a day to look forward to.

We suppose it doesn’t come as a surprise that Apple has chosen the 30th of October since they will most likely make an announcement alongside the new iPads and Mac computers, but since there is no official confirmation, it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now. Group FaceTime and dual SIMs are some of the new features that Apple announced this year for iOS 12 and also during its iPhone announcement last month.

However neither feature was made available at launch, but thankfully it seems that iOS users did not have to wait too long. It should be noted that the dual SIM functionality will require the use of the eSIM, which means that not all countries will support the feature just yet.
