The price difference between the iPhone Xs Max and iPhone XR is huge and represents several hundred dollars that you could save and put towards something else. However the question is, is the cheaper iPhone XR worth it, especially since it seems to “sacrifice” certain features like the dual rear-facing cameras.

For those who are curious, the good folks at MacRumors have recently put together a video in which they compare the photographs taken by the iPhone Xs Max and the iPhone XR, in which based on their comparisons, hopefully you should be able to come to a conclusion as to which is more suited to your tastes, and whether or not the price difference can be justified.

The video compares camera features such as Portrait mode, where the iPhone Xs Max accomplishes this with the dual camera system, while the iPhone XR uses pure software to achieve a similar effect. The video also compares low light photography between either phone, and also the zoom effects of either phone, in which in some instances the iPhone Xs Max has an advantage due to the dual lens system that consists of a wide-angle and telephoto lens.

However for the most part when it comes to standard photos, the differences aren’t too big which means that depending on your needs and preferences, maybe the cheaper iPhone XR will do, but if you have a few minutes to spare you can judge for yourself by watching the video above.
