If a sleek and stealthy black looking Surface device was something you’ve always thought that Microsoft should have launched, you might have been excited when you saw the leak of a black Surface tablet. The good news is that the leaks are accurate because Microsoft has since officially unveiled its new Surface Pro 6 tablet which now comes in a matte black finish.

Microsoft is calling the Surface Pro 6 its most powerful Surface Pro model yet, which we certainly hope is true as it will be the company’s latest model. It packs an Intel 8th generation Core processor that Microsoft says will be 67% faster than the 5th generation Surface Pro models.

The new tablets are also boasting an incredible battery life of 13.5 hours which puts it ahead of the competition, namely Apple’s iPad Pro. It is still expected to retain its 12.3-inch display and will support up to 16GB of RAM. On the surface (pun intended) not much has changed apart from the new coat of paint.

This is a tad unfortunate as we’re sure some would have liked to see some design changes, and also the addition of USB-C ports. For some this is a good thing as it means not having to deal with dongles/adapters, but not for those hoping to futureproof their gadgets. The Surface Pro 6 will be available come 16th of October where it will be priced starting at $899 for the Intel Core i5 model.
