For years we have been hearing rumors and reports that Samsung is developing a smartphone with a foldable display. The device in question is expected to be officially unveiled at the Samsung Developer Conference next month, although judging from what we’ve heard in which Samsung has yet to finalize the design, it might not be ready commercially anytime soon.

In fact if you are thinking of getting your hands on the device, then you might want to take note that in a report from Bloomberg, it seems that Samsung might only make it commercially available in the second quarter of 2019. This seems to largely echo what we’ve been hearing, in which Samsung might only show off a working prototype at their SDC event, and that the final version won’t be available anytime soon.

Given that this will be the first phone of its kind, we suppose that there are a lot of things to consider and a lot of things that Samsung has to get right if they’re hoping to make a good first impression. After all they aren’t the only company with plans for a foldable phone, with others such as Huawei who are hoping to be the first, along with Lenovo who is said to be working with LG on creating a foldable tablet.
