Over the past few months, we have been treated to various rumors and leaks and teases of Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi Mix 3 smartphone. Now it looks like the company has decided to confirm when the phone will be announced which is on the 25th of October. However the announcement of the launch date has also teased some potential features.

According to the teaser, it seems to suggest that the Mi Mix 3 could support 5G. This is actually not the first time Xiaomi has teased that possibility, but this seems to confirm it. However it has been pointed out that the current Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 does not support 5G (the next-gen Snapdragon 8150 will), at least not natively, which means that Xiaomi might have to come up with a different way to do so.

The other feature that was teased is the mention of “10G”. It is unclear what this is referring to, but some have taken it to mean that the phone could come with 10GB of RAM. The majority of smartphones these days come with around 6GB of RAM, while there are some with 8GB out there, so 10GB would definitely put Xiaomi at the top of the list. However there is the question of whether or not 10GB of RAM is necessary to begin with.

In any case we should have all the official details come October 25 so do check back with us then for more updates on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.
