Nokia 7.1 owners can now get a taste of Android Pie on their handsets. The company has confirmed that it has started rolling out Android 9.0 Pie for the Nokia 7.1. The company launched this handset only recently so it’s great that the Pie update is being released for this handset rather quickly. It’s a mid-range device that offers customers a good bang for their buck.

The confirmation that HMD Global, the home of Nokia smartphones, is rolling out Android 9 Pie for the Nokia 7.1 came from HMD CPO Juho Sarvikas. He announced on Twitter that Pie is rolling out on the Nokia 7.1 today. HMD Global has done a good job of rolling out Pie for its devices. The Nokia 6.1, 6.1 Plus, and Nokia 7 Plus have already received this update.

Sarvikas added that this will, as always, be a phased roll-out. This means that the update will not go live in all markets at once. Markets with longer technical approvals will receive it a bit later. Nevertheless, users can now rest assured that they will soon get a taste of Pie on their handsets.

Android 9 Pie brings a wide variety of new features for the handset. This includes but is not limited to an improved user interface, features to look after the users’ digital wellbeing, and more.
