It was recently reported that OnePlus has teamed up with McLaren, a well regarded car manufacturer, on what may possibly be a limited edition variant of the OnePlus 6T. It’s apparently going to be called the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition. According to a new report, the specs of this handset will include a whopping 10GB of RAM.

It’s not really common for smartphones to have 10GB of RAM but this whopping amount will likely be played up by OnePlus in its marketing materials. That’s despite the fact that merely a greater amount of RAM doesn’t really translate into noticeable overall performance gains.

The report mentions that the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is going to feature 10GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. These may be the extended of the internal hardware changes as it’s expected to be similar to the OnePlus 6T in all other aspects.

It’s possible that this variant of the device might be offered in a different color option or it may have some branding which signifies that it’s a limited edition device made in partnership with McLaren. None of that is known for sure right now as no renders have surfaced online just yet.

OnePlus has confirmed that it will be unveiling this device on December 11th. That’s also when it will confirm the pricing and availability details for the device.
