It was first rumored a couple of months ago that Nokia may have a new smartphone up its sleeve with a grand total of five cameras at the back. No other manufacturer has a penta-camera setup at the back right now. Samsung was the first to put four at the back with the recently launched Galaxy A9. There’s no word as yet when this device, dubbed Nokia 9, will arrive but some alleged renders have been leaked online today.

The renders come from @OnLeaks who has been right on several occasions in the past. The device we see in these renders is similar to the one that we saw in the leaked image. We can see the hexagonal penta-camera setup at the back alongside what appears to be a dual-tone flash.

The accompanying report mentions that this device will have the PureView branding from Nokias of days gone by to highlight its camera prowess. It’s unclear what purpose each lense is going to serve.

This will likely be a high-end smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and up to 8GB of RAM. HMD Global, the company that makes Nokia smartphones now, hasn’t said when this device will arrive. A recent report suggested that we may not see it till early next year.
