Netflix had previously announced that they would be cancelling the Daredevil TV series. The series had run for three seasons and was admittedly one of their better series amongst the Marvel shows on its platform, so safe to say many were surprised with the announcement. However could this cancellation simply be leading to something else?

In a post on Marvel’s website (via IGN), it seems that they aren’t quite done with Daredevil just yet. “Marvel is extremely grateful to the huge audience that loved Marvel’s Daredevil. From the moment of young Matt’s first act of heroism to the birth of Page, Murdock, & Nelson, it has been a unbelievable journey.”

“We are incredibly proud of the amazing showrunners and writers starting with Drew Goddard and Steven DeKnight, Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie and Erik Oleson, Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Vincent D’Onofrio and our casts who brought our characters to life with such excellence, and every one of the fantastic crews in NYC. We look forward to more adventures with the Man without Fear in the future.”

Now we can’t be sure what Marvel means exactly. Granted the character does belong to them so obviously the cancellation of the series doesn’t mean that they’re done with the character. However does the mention of “more adventures” mean a future Daredevil series on Disney+, or maybe giving Daredevil his own movie? We suppose we’ll have to wait and see.
