We know that come 2019, OnePlus will have at least two phones: the OnePlus 7 and a 5G-enabled OnePlus handset. This is because the company had previously stated that their 5G smartphone will not be the successor to the OnePlus 6T, indicating that it will be a completely separate device.

What this means is that thanks to a post by leakster Ishan Agarwal, the phone leaked in the photo above might not necessarily be the OnePlus 7 and could instead be the 5G OnePlus instead, or vice versa. It is also entirely possible that the phone picture could be a prototype and might not be indicative of the final design of whatever the phone might be.

This is because the back of the phone features a huge circular area in which the camera will be placed. Given what we’ve seen in previous OnePlus handsets, this is definitely not part of the company’s design language, although to be fair it could be that they are trying something different and new.

In any case take this leak with a grain of salt for now because for all we know, the photo could be fake since it wouldn’t be impossible to photoshop a fake product onto a screen, although to be fair Agarwal has had quite a number of successful leaks in the past. Either way we’ll probably have to wait until 2019 to find out so maybe don’t put too much stock into this photo just yet.
