OnePlus had recently teased a collaboration with supercar manufacturer McLaren and today the company officially unveiled the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau says that this handset marks the start of a new partnership with McLaren and that it will give the people “a feeling of incredible speed and performance.”

The main differences compared to a regular OnePlus 6T are the RAM, fancy orange accents, and a faster charger. The design is largely similar to the existing device as well. It obviously costs a bit more as well.

The accents are in McLaren’s signature Papaya Orange color around the bottom edge. It’s a subtle yet impressive addition to the device. The pattern under the glass back is based on McLaren’s carbon fiber technology that’s at the heart of its entire vehicle lineup since 1981. There’s also a McLaren badge at the very bottom.

Much of the specs are the same with the exception of the RAM. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has 10GB of RAM. Warp Charge 30 is the company’s new 30W charging standard. It’s like fast charging on steroids. OnePlus claims it can provide a day’s worth of battery life in just 20 minutes.

OnePlus will ship this device in a very fancy fox. The box has McLaren’s logo and recreated in F1 AA grade carbon fiber designed by the car company. It’s the same material that’s used in the McLaren MCL33 2018 Formula 1 car. There are exclusive software animations as well to celebrate this partnership. The OnePlus 6T McLaren edition will be available for purchase starting December 13th for $699.
