It has been a while since Stardew Valley’s developer announced that the game would be getting a multiplayer feature. In fact earlier this year the feature was released for gamers on the PC, Mac, and Linux, which we’re sure has some console gamers wondering when will it eventually get to them.

The good news is that in an announcement on the Stardew Valley website, it has been revealed that multiplayer for the Switch will be coming soon. This was revealed by publisher Chucklefish who stated that the multiplayer feature had already been submitted to Nintendo for approval, which means that it probably won’t be much longer until Switch gamers can get their hands on it.

The multiplayer announcement was actually part of a larger announcement, where the game’s developer, ConcernedApe, revealed that he will be parting ways with the game’s publisher, ChuckleFish. This seems to be an amicable split as both ConcernedApe and Chucklefish have wished each other all the best, with ChuckleFish noting that they will continue to handle the publishing duties of the game on the Switch as well as mobile.

Speaking of mobile, Chucklefish notes that the Android version of the game is still in development and hopefully we’ll have more details about that soon.
