#CES2019 – Smart bulbs are a fun way to get into making your home smart. With the ability to schedule your lights, make them flash, change the colors, it seems pretty straightforward. However it can be expensive to outfit your entire home with them, which is where smart switches come into play.

At CES 2019, Belkin has taken the wraps off its new Wemo in-wall smart switches. These switches sport a slightly more streamlined design, but the most important thing is that it is actually cheaper than its predecessor. There will be two versions available: a 3-way switch and a single-pole switch, with the former priced at $50 and the latter priced at $40.

For those wondering about the need for a smart switch, basically they allow users to remotely control and access certain household appliances and lighting systems. However the benefit to this is that you can use it with existing devices and lights, which could be cheaper versus outfitting your entire home with smart bulbs.

They can also serve as a single-button control for multiple Wemo devices, so you can ensure that all lights and devices are off when you leave the home with a single press, and turn them all on again with a single press.
