Disney’s acquisition of some of Fox’s assets is set to be closed this year. This is huge news for the entertainment scene, especially for those who are fans of superhero movies as it was confirmed that franchises such as X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool would be brought back under Marvel’s banner and folded into the MCU.

It is unclear what the plans are for new X-Men or Fantastic Four movies, but in the meantime actor Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that Deadpool 3 is in development. This is according to a report from Variety in which the actor paid a visit to China to promote “Deadpool 2: I Love My Family” which is basically the China approved version of the movie.

Details of Deadpool 3 are scarce at this point in time, but Reynolds did confirm that the movie was in development and added that they were “looking to go in a completely different direction”. When Deadpool 3 begins filming and when it will be released is anyone’s guess, although some have expressed their concern about it belonging to Disney who typically prefers keeping its shows as family-friendly as possible.

However assuming that Disney’s CEO Bob Iger’s mind hasn’t been changed, he did state back in 2017 that an R-rated Deadpool was still possible even under Disney’s banner, and that, “As long as we let the audiences know what’s coming, we think we can manage that fine.” We suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.
