#CES2019 – Mechanical keyboards are a dime a dozen and we imagine that it can be quite tricky trying to decide the best one for you. That being said, Lenovo is tossing their hat into the ring with their latest offering in the form of the Lenovo Legion K500 RGB mechanical keyboard which they announced at CES 2019.

This is a standard full-sized keyboard that offers up RGB backlighting. According to Lenovo, there will be three different RGB zones that can be customized, so if you want to group up different sections of the keyboard, that will be possible. The keyboard will also come with seven dedicated media keys for media playback control.

The keyboard also uses Red mechanical switches, but it was not mentioned if these are Cherry MX Reds or if they are of a different brand, but they are of the linear variety meaning that the keys won’t have a tactile bump when you press on it. In theory this would be considered “faster”, but there are some who might prefer the tactile bump, so it’s up to your personal preference.

The keyboard will connect via USB 2.0 and unfortunately the cable is not detachable. There will also be a wrist/palm rest for better comfort, but it can be removed if you’re a bit tight on deskspace. The Lenovo Legion K500 mechanical keyboard is expected to be available for purchase this April where it will retail for $99.99.
