Many of us tend to have a clock on our nightstands to keep track of time. In this day and age when everything is either “smart” or has a virtual assistant, why not the humble nightstand clock? Lenovo has launched the Smart Clock with Google Assistant at the Consumer Electronics Show 2019. It’s designed for the nightstand and does indeed feature Google’s personal assistant.

It has a 4 inch touchscreen display that delivers “visual experiences” when you wake up and when you’re ready to sleep. With Google Assistant you can stream music, set alarms, control smart home devices, and more. Lenovo’s Smart Clock also supports Assistant’s gentle wake-up routine.

There are multiple customizable clock faces for this device which also has a full fabric soft-touch cover design that includes a full-size USB port for easy charging. There’s a mute microphone button and the device doesn’t have a camera.

Lenovo has even given it a 6W speaker with two passive radiators tuned with Dolby’s background noise reduction. There’s support for multi-room functionality so that the device can be used in multi-room audio setups.

The company hasn’t said precisely when the Smart Clock with Google Assistant will be available, only that it will go on sale in Spring 2019 for $79.99.
