We know that many smartphone makers plan on launching a 5G smartphone this year, and if you’re a fan of LG’s products, you’ll be pleased to learn that the company has confirmed that come MWC 2019, they will be taking the wraps off its 5G smartphone, although whether or not this will be the LG G8 or a standalone device remains to be seen.

However based on LG’s announcement, it is confirmed that it will pack specs worthy of a flagship. This is thanks to the use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chipset, which like we said makes it a bit hard to determine if this could be the LG G8, which presumably would feature the use of the chipset, or a standalone handset specifically for those willing to adopt 5G.

LG is also boasting that its 5G smartphone will feature the use of a “Vapor Chamber” which apparently will help with the cooling of the device. This is actually rather important because one of the drawbacks to early LTE handsets back in the day was poor battery life and also heat management, so it looks like LG is trying to get a handle on this with this “Vapor Chamber” technology.

LG is also addressing the potential battery issues faced by 5G smartphones where this particular handset will be packing a sizeable 4,000mAh battery. That being said, 5G will probably take a while before it is rolled out to the masses, but for early adopters, it seems that LG might have something you will be able to get your hands on.
