Apple has won over a couple of major TV manufacturers this year. Not long after Samsung announced that it would soon bring AirPlay 2 support to its latest TVs, LG has now followed suit with a similar announcement. The company’s 2019 TVs will also have support for AirPlay 2.

Apple’s latest partnership with Samsung goes one step further. 2019 Samsung Smart TVs will get an exclusive iTunes Movies and TV Shows app. The app will let users access their iTunes library and also purchase content through Apple’s media store. This is the first time that iTunes has been opened up to third-party devices other than Windows PCs.

LG confirmed at the Consumer Electronics Show 2019 that its 2019 smart TVs will have support for Apple AirPlay 2 out of the box. This will enable iOS and macOS device owners to easily play content like videos and music to the screen. They will also be able to mirror their device’s screen to the TV.

LG’s TVs will also get support for Apple HomeKit so it will also be possible to control smart home devices through this integration. LG isn’t alone in this as Vizio’s latest TVs will get this functionality as well, alongside AirPlay 2 support. Speaking of LG’s TV, the Korean company has finally shown off the consumer version of its rollable OLED TV.
