Apple and Samsung are rivals and there’s no denying it. However, both companies do seem to understand that there are benefits to working with each other, and that’s exactly what has happened. Samsung has recently announced that for its 2019 smart TVs, they will be bringing the new Apple TV app to it and also support for AirPlay 2.
AirPlay is one of the easiest ways to share content from your Apple device to your Apple TV. The company has confirmed that it has removed AirPlay support this past week.
The problem with companies such as Apple creating proprietary wireless protocols is that it can sometimes limit the choices of what consumers can buy. For example if you’re particularly locked into Apple’s ecosystem with AirPlay and AirPlay 2, then you need to be on the hunt for devices that support it, and sometimes what you want might not.

One of the reasons why people buy Apple TV set-top boxes is because they allow them to AirPlay content from an iOS device to a big screen TV, apart from the fact that the set-top box offers a wide variety of content sources.
