The LG G8 is expected to be officially announced at MWC 2019. There have been some leaks that we’ve come across in the past that show what the phone could look like, but a new render from the folks at XDA Developers has shown us more angles. It also confirms what the previous renders showed us, so at the very least the rumors are consistent.

That being said, we should state that the design of the LG G8 isn’t particularly exciting. It’s not a terrible design by any means, but considering that competition in the smartphone industry is extremely fierce, you would think that LG would want to create something that stands out from the competition.

The phone appears to feature a huge notch at the top but that’s for good reason. It seems that LG is putting in more sensors/cameras which suggests that a more complex facial recognition system could be in the works. However the phone will continue to use fingerprint scanning technology which is located at the back, along with a dual camera setup.

There have been some rumors that claim that the phone could have a sound-on-display technology, but we’re not sure you can tell from the render alone. Other than that, the usual hardware suspects like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, 6-8GB of RAM, and Android 9.0 Pie should be the other features we can look forward to.
