Being able to charge our smartphones on the go isn’t anything new, but obviously they can sometimes be slower when compared to wall chargers where the output is higher and combine that with fast charging technology, will result in a quicker battery top up. However Mophie is here to help solve that problem.

The company has recently taken the wraps off its new power banks in the form of the Mophie Powerstation PD and PD XL. These power banks will feature the use of USB-C ports which will allow for more power output compared to regular USB-A, and will be able to supply up to 18W of power. What does this mean? For iPhone users, it seems that it will be fast enough to charge your phone up by 50% in half an hour, which means that after an hour or so, you should be able to expect a fully charged phone.

According to Robert Johnson, general manager for mophie, “We developed this new line of powerstation batteries using the power delivery protocol so consumers can charge as quickly and safely as possible. As consumer habits evolve, mophie adapts to deliver the most advanced charging solutions that are convenient, fast, and efficient. The powerstation PD and PD XL are no exception.”

The Mophie Powerstation PD will sport a 6,700mAh battery, while the Powerstation PD XL will have a 10,050mAh battery and are priced at $60 and $80 respectively and are available via Mophie’s website.
