HP has been pushing for large Gaming Monitors for some time, and we admit that it got our interest before, but the new Omen x 65 Emporium with Soundbar reaches a new level.

This 65-inch Gaming Monitor has it all: the 4K resolution, the 144Hz refresh rate, the 4ms response time, an impressive 95% DCI-P3 color gamut. We would be happy if our 30-inch PC monitors were that good.

But that’s not all: it’s not a dumb monitor either! The Omen x 65 comes with a built-in NVIDIA Shield TV, to turn this excellent monitor into an Android TV device. Are you drooling yet?

In the photo, you can see a voluminous soundbar, and yes, it is as good as it looks. It’s true that trade shows aren’t the best places to judge audio quality, but so far we’re impressed. There’s a “Game Mode” that emphasizes subtle sounds such as footsteps so you won’t be (virtually) ambushed easily. When watching TV or listening to music, there’s also a Music mode.

HP built this display with care and has included an RGB color accent LED light in the back to make things easy on your eyes. Perhaps the cherry on the cake is the LED light that illuminates all the ports as soon as you approach them (photo in the gallery above). Now, THAT is true customer attention.
