For the longest time ever, Ubisoft never failed to release a new Assassin’s Creed title every year, but last year it was revealed that the company would not be returning to an annual release schedule and that 2019 would not be getting a brand new Assassin’s Creed title. While that still holds true, recent leaks have clued us in to what we might be able to expect in 2020.

In series of leaked screenshots and details posted onto the ResetEra forums, it has been revealed that the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise could be set in the age of Vikings and where it could be known as Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok. Now assuming that the post is accurate, the developer will be Ubisoft Montreal.

It will also see the return of some older features such as co-op, RPG mechanics, and large scale conquest-based battles. The map is also expected to be split into several regions such as Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. The alleged screenshots of the upcoming game have also been uploaded to Imgur.

However, these screenshots were taken by an external camera so it’s a bit hard to tell what we can expect in terms of graphics quality. Take all this with a grain of salt for now, but with Assassin’s Creed taking a break for 2019, at least from the main franchise, it will be a while before we have anything more concrete to share with you.
