Avengers: Endgame has been smashing box office records since it opened last month and the year’s biggest movie continues to rake in some serious money. The latest figures show that Avengers: Endgame has now earned over $2 billion worldwide.

This means that Avengers: Endgame is actually the fastest movie ever to earn more than $2 billion at the box office worldwide. Deadline reports that this also happens to be the second-biggest film release ever.

Avengers: Endgame earned a whopping $1.2 billion on its opening weekend alone worldwide and has since been breaking records left, right, and center. For example, the movie has become the highest-grossing Thursday release ever, has clinched the biggest opening weekend ever in the U.S. and abroad, and it has already crossed the box office totals of Star Wars: The Force Wakens, Titanic, and Avengers: Infinity War.

That’s quite fitting for the movie that caps off Marvel’s 11 year franchise which spans 22 films. It all started with Iron Man back in 2008 and there has been no stopping the MCU behemoth ever since.

There’s not going to be any resting on the laurels for Marvel after this. It actually has at least 20 films in development for the next decade as the fourth phase begins with Spider-Man: Far From Home which is due this summer.
