As some of you might have heard, Netflix is working on a “The Witcher” series. The company stated that the series would be released late 2019, but did not specify when. However according to a report from Recapped, they have revealed that the series is now set for a release on the 20th of December, 2019.

For those who are unfamiliar with Recapped, they are a NSFW celebrity blog and while it might seem like an odd source, it has been pointed out that the publication did break the news on the show’s casting in the past, so there is a chance that they could be right again. The report also goes on to state that season 2 is expected to begin filming also in December or potentially in January, suggesting that we could see a release in late 2020 for the second season as well.

The Witcher series will be starring Superman actor Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer. However, we should remind you that the series will be based more closely on the books rather than the game. For those who did not know, The Witcher game is actually based on the novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski.

This means that if you’ve never read the books before, then it could be a bit unfamiliar to you. So far, Netflix has been reported to be pretty happy with the series, which is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that a second season could already been greenlit.
