If you are thinking about buying a new MacBook Air or MacBook Pro, you might want to hold off because according to a report from IHS Markit analyst Jeff Lin, he claims that there is a good chance that we might be seeing Apple update its MacBook Air models and also the 13-inch MacBook Pro.

However, we should note that the MacBook Pro model that Lin refers is the model without the Touch Bar, so unless you have a need for the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, then this could be an update to look forward to. Apple last updated the MacBook Air back in 2018 where the company gave it a massive and long overdue refresh.

It saw Apple introduce a new-ish design to the laptop, new colors, new hardware, and also a brand new keyboard. This means that following the typical refresh cycle, we wouldn’t be surprised if an update to the laptop would be coming this year. No word on what kind of upgrades we can expect, but chances are it will not be particularly major and will most likely be a processor upgrade.

In the meantime, Lin has also predicted that Apple could launch their much-rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro later this year, where instead of an OLED screen as per the rumors, it could come with a standard LCD.
