According to the rumors, Apple is working on a 16-inch MacBook Pro. We have heard that the laptop could be sporting an OLED screen, but according to a report from analyst Jeff Lin, he claims that Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro might be launching in the coming months except that it will sport an LCD instead of OLED.

The report claims that the display will be provided by LG and it is expected to have a resolution of 3072×1920. To give you some context, the 15-inch MacBook Pro has a resolution of 2880×1800, so it actually makes sense that the 16-inch model might have a higher resolution thanks to its bigger screen.

Apart from a potential launch date and a new resolution, we’re not sure what kind of specs the laptop could be packing, such as whether or not it might feature the use of Touch ID, or if there might be an option to buy one without Touch ID. We expect that it will probably feature a new processor, but which model remains to be seen.

Take it with a grain of salt for now, but if you think that the 15-inch MacBook Pro is a bit too “small” for your liking, then you might want to wait until September where a larger model could potentially be launched. In the meantime, recent reports have suggested that Apple could be considering buying OLED screens from Samsung for future MacBook laptops, but whether or not they’ll make it into this year’s models is unclear.
